09/13/07 Traveling Theatre Presents Young Actors Playground Workshop at Central Library | event info
Traveling Theatre, of Cranston, and Providence Public Library present a Young Actors Playground Workshop on Saturday, October 6 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at Central Library, 150 Empire Street (Barnard Room & Auditorium - 3rd Floor). Capturing and guiding the endless creative potential in all children, the mission of the Young Actor’s Playground Workshop is to enable young people to create, develop and perform a theatrical production.
For ages 5 to 14, this free workshop gives a broad overview of many aspects of theatre. Students will be introduced to acting, improvisation, character development, voice and articulation through active participation in theatre games. Please call 455-8025 to register, as space is limited.
Elizabeth C. Cunha, Artistic Director, is the founder of Traveling Theatre. She has a BA in Theatre and a Master of Fine Arts from Rhode Island College with a concentration in Performance and Society. She has been seen performing on a multitude of local stages from Barker Play House, Pawtucket Community Players, Mill River Theater and Rhode Island College. Her passion for teaching The Arts to students of all ages and abilities led her to develop the concepts and curriculum for the workshops provided by this theatre company. She is an adjunct professor for Rhode Island College teaching classes in the History of Theatre, Introduction to Theatre and Appreciation and Enjoyment of Theatre. She has studied under such greats as Jennifer Mudge, Bob Colona, Fred Sullivan, Wendy Overly and P. William Hutchinson.
