NOTICE: Potential Library Closings Due to Heat

Providence Public Library officials have alerted patrons of the Knight Memorial (275 Elmwood Avenue, 455-8102) and Smith Hill Branch (31 Candace Street, 455-8104) libraries of the potential for incidental closings of these libraries on exceedingly hot or high ozone alert days.

“These facilities lack air conditioning and the closings occur when the temperature exceeds or is expected to exceed safe levels for operation,” said Tonia Mason, communications director.

During the remainder of the summer, patrons are encouraged to call the branches before going to determine the status. Closure announcements will also be posted at: www.provlib.org; however, calling the branch is highly recommended.
