Poetry Lives in Providence: A City-wide Youth Poetry Project

The Youth Poets Poetry Anthology was created by the youth participating in this project, and made possible by a grant from The National Endowment for the Arts.

For six weeks local poets, Christine Gardiner, Kate Schapira and Orlando White taught poetry writing workshops at three neighborhood branches of the Providence Public Library. Each poet conducted formal writing exercises, facilitated writer’s workshops, and worked one-on-one with Providence area youth.
