 AskRI’s Policy

AskRI.org provides services which support the Rhode Island community and more. Behavior on the part of patrons which disrupts library services will not be tolerated. Librarians reserve the right to to refuse services to any library user who acts irresponsibly, either by disrupting the use of the services or by being disrespectful to a library employee. Irresponsible behavior includes but is not limited to the following:

  • Rudeness, including loud and/or offensive language
  • Unreasonable demands for service and speed of searches
  • Threatening or erratic behavior

The Reference librarians are happy to help with research, but homework questions and assignments from school should be directed to the live tutors available through the Homework Help RI database on the AskRI.org homepage.

If you have issues pertaining the policy, please email Karen Mellor at the Office of Library and Information Services.
